One way for roulette players to maximize their gaming experience is by knowing which bet type to make. This is important if you want to minimize your losses, thereby giving you a longer playing time.

The first thing you should know before playing in a roulette table is how much the minimum and maximum bets are for inside and outside bets. Jumping in without knowing how much the minimum and maximum bets is almost always a bad way to start playing roulette.

The bet description for roulette tables are placed in a highly visible area -- mostly printed on a placard. An example of what you may see printed on the placard is this; "Roulette: $10 minimum inside bets and $10 minimum outside bets. Maximum Inside Bets $100, Maximum Outside Bets $1,000."

As stated above, the maximum inside bet is lower compared to the maximum outside bet. This is common in most casinos because of the higher payoffs at inside bets. Although the odds are similar in both the inside and outside bets, casinos don't want to lose huge amounts of money on just a single bet inside bet.

Another difference between inside and outside bets is the way a player can make a minimum bet for each bet type. Although the minimum bet amount for both the inside and outside bets are similar, the process for betting in each type is different.

For inside bets, if you wish to play the minimum of $10 like our example above, you're free to spread 10 $1 chips on ten different bet areas on the inside. In the case of outside bets, if you're going to bet the $10 minimum, you're required to place the entire $10 for each outside bet.

Making bets is as simple as placing your chips or chip on the spot that you wish to make a bet on. The size of the table may restrict you to a certain area, and this can make it arduous for you to reach betting areas far from your spot. In case you encounter such a problem, you should ask the dealer to put your chips on the bet area you want them to be placed on.

Betting is the easy part, winning is the hard one. However, once you've familiarized yourself with the different bet areas and bet types, you can then minimize your losses. Betting properly and appropriately is one way to make your roulette games much more enjoyable and less frustrating.
